History of the Project
The idea to create a completely domestic oriented history game was thought up by the Piga developers around 2006. The idea was to encapsule functions like government selection, technological research, and other domestic functions from games like Civilization and Age of Empires into a single game focusing on it. The game was originally called Piga Government and was to be developed for Microsoft Windows in Game Maker. The project received very little advancement however and it popped into the back of the minds of the Piga staff. Later in fall of 2007, the idea of doing the same idea for Linux in Gambas was thought up by Graham Wilson and that day he begun making it. He called it Piga Nation. The game was started be developing the Age controls, shortly after Government selection was created. From there further features where added and to this day development continues.
